These are not as thick as some of the other plates, but they are flashy and sturdy enough to hold food without becoming floppy/soggy. We ordered these mostly for decoration and burgers, but they were a big hit and used by everyone for everything. I would order again and probably will!!

These plates are great. They have an original look to them I haven't seen anywhere else, with fireworks in the background and a shimmer on the flag. They aren't heavy duty paper plates, but thicker than the basic paper plates you find at the grocery store, and with the plastic coating used for the picture, they don't leak through as easily as other paper plates (they held up to fruit and dips just fine). The price is great as well, even better on sale. If you try to buy 50 decorated/themed paper plates at any party supply store, you'll be paying much more, if you can find a pack of 50 (probably closer to 8 or 16 per pack.) FYI: When they say not for use in the microwave, they mean it. My kids used them by accident to reheat pizza and the plastic coating bubbled up and shrunk. We had to throw the pizza away.
