It's a great way to ask children "what does the world mean? What is inside a world globe?" The answer can be so many words like, "water", "earth" "sky" but once they get into "countries" and "people", that's when you can open up this wooden globe and introduce them to the 8 multicultural painted and wooden children. That's when the fun begins and you can start introducing them to culture and geography!

Purchased this for classroom decor, and was very very disappointed in the globe. I feel a little embarrased bringing it into my classroom, because it is incredibly inaccurate. However the "dolls" inside are very cute and represent a wide culture range.
Cons: very inaccurate

I was hesitant to purchase this after reading the reviews, but my daughter loves global dolls so I got this for her anyway. The quality is slightly better than what I expected. Each doll is about 2" tall and is painted well with cute details. The globe is made from inexpensive wood and was very difficult to open. I had to pry it with a small screwdriver at first, but a very light sanding around the edges fixed that problem easily. The continents are definitely painted in an abstract manner. It's not realistic in any way, but that wasn't an issue for me. It's pretty much what you see in the product picture. Overall, I think this is a cute educational item for the price.
Pros: Educational, Age appropriateness, cost

Can't get the globes open - will have to sand them before giving them to the kids!!! A real pain! The other stacking dolls ordered were even worse.....

We bought this for business since we expanded globally; item is adorable and has good use, however, we have to smack the seam on the edge of our desk to even get it to open for the wood is stuck and it won't pull apart.

I have to agree with some of the reviews. The globe i got looks nothing like earth. It is a brown ball with some squiggles. really no color at all. and I couldn't take the globe apart!! I finally too a knife and bit by bit, I was able to slowly pry it open. Once I got it open, I too had a lot of paint chips at the bottom. The dolls were painted cute though. I will try to sand the sides a bit. But I my son cant play with this because he cant open it! So it sits in my closet collecting dust. I was super bummed.
